In the month of February, we would love to invite you to participate in our next community service project. Our K-Kids will be collecting brand new or gently used stuffed animals to be given to the local first responders.

The guidelines: Small to medium sized stuffed animals (no bigger than 12 inches). These animals are packed inside the emergency vehicles. Also, remember to check gently-used stuffed animals for tears and/or stains.

The drive will begin on February 1st and end on February 28th. Items will be collected in the front office.

Mossy Head School surprised School Resource Deputy Messenger in honor of First Responder Appreciation Week. Students presented Deputy Messenger with a special mural and themed cake. Also, the students and staff wore blue in support of those who protect, serve, and respond to emergencies each day. Thank you for all that you do!

Superintendent Russell Hughes is shown collaborating with a group of Mossy Head School teachers during Tuesday’s Professional Learning Day. Mossy Head School and West DeFuniak Elementary teachers attended “Instructional Strategies for ALL Learners” with teacher and author Jodi O’Meara. Teachers learned new strategies for implementing differentiated instruction within the classroom and planning instruction with intentionality to build conceptual understanding. The day provided the two schools an additional opportunity to collaborate and share instructional practices to meet students’ needs.
