Students enjoyed a Snowy Day

December 19, 2016

Mossy Head School’s PTO sponsored a snow day for our students.  The cool day was a perfect setting as students played in the snow. The students had a wonderful time!

WCSD Food and Nutrition Services is accepting free and reduced meal applications online! The online applications enable parents to complete and submit the applications faster, while allowing Food and Nutrition Services to approve the applications in a more timely manner.

The application can be accessed at www.ezmealapp.com from any computer with internet capabilities. Food and Nutrition Services is happy to bring this technology to our families to ensure that students receive meal benefits as quickly as possible. The online applications are secure and the application is confidential. If an application for the 16-17 school year has been submitted and processed no additional application is necessary.

This year for our Winter Music Concert, our 4th grade students performed a musical titled "The Nutcracker, A Youth Musical". We are so proud of our students for the preparation and effort that was put into this performance. A special thanks to Mrs. Krystina Lyon for working so hard with these students to make this performance a success.

K-Kids Food Drive

December 5, 2016

Did you know? Nearly 15 million children in America today are at risk of hunger. For the months of November and December, K-Kids will be collecting nonperishable items to be part of the movement to end child hunger. These items will be donated to children in need in our community to help for the long Christmas break.

Here are several examples that could be donated for the food drive:

Canned meats (tuna/chicken)

Canned fruits (pop-top lids)

Peanut Butter

Instant Soups

Oatmeal

Pop tarts

Peanut Butter Crackers

Easy Mac (just add water)

Granola Bars

Prepackaged Snacks

Vienna Sausages

Ravioli (individual servings)

Applesauce

Ramen Noodles

Starting Monday, December 5 through Friday, December 9, we will have our Santa Store at MHS to offer our children the opportunity to purchase gifts for their parents, grandparents, siblings and friends. The shop will be set up in the school and will be run by our PTO. Most of the items will range in price from $1 - $5. It is our hope that through this program, our children will learn about handling money and receive the joy of giving and selecting a special gift for their loved ones.
