MHS is ready for FSA

April 3, 2015

Mossy Head School's students are ready for the FSA! They have worked hard all year and it's time to SHINE and show all they've learned! We believe in you Mustangs and know you are going to do AWESOME!!!
Mossy Head School is proud to announce the Student of the Month for March is Makenzi Waldfogel. Makenzi is a 5th grade student in Mrs. Coleman's class. She shows her dedication to learning by always doing her best in school and being a great example for her peers. Congratulations, Makenzi!

Students in Mrs. Blanton’s 3rd grade classroom used Prezi to create a presentation for their class on air pressure and barometers. Students worked during their enrichment group to research and create the Prezi. Using Prezi in this Digital Lead Classroom at Mossy Head School is one way students incorporate technology in their everyday learning.

Congratulations to Kayleigh Clayton, February's Student of the Month for Mossy Head School. Kayleigh is in Ms. Green's 5th grade classroom and sets a great example for her classmates. Way to go, Kayleigh!

Mossy Head School honors Veterans during annual Veteran's Day Program

Students, teachers, parents, and staff joined together on November 10th to honor those serving or who have served in our armed forces during a Veteran's Day Program. Mrs. Hinote opened the celebration by welcoming everyone. Morgan Hickingbottom stood proudly as she lead the Pledge of Allegiance. The Headliner's performed several patriotic songs in dedication to our Veterans. Keynote speaker, Retired Air Force Major Dan Owens, talked about the meaning of Veteran's Day. Fourth grade students, Tayten Lehmann and Lauren Gaither, read their writings about the history of Veteran's Day. Thank you, Veterans!

Music in Pictures visits MHS

November 7, 2014

Mossy Head School welcomed guest performer and saxophonist Bryan McNamara, who is the General Manager of Orchestras at Florida State University. His performance coincided with the Music in Pictures art contest MHS students are participating in. The contest is sponsored by the Rosemary Beach Foundation and combines music and visual art. For the contest, students listen to certain musical selections and interpret what they hear into visual imagery. Special thanks to Rosemary Beach Foundation's, Malayne DeMars, for arranging the visit.
Students dressed up as their favorite book character on Friday, October 31st to celebrate Red Ribbon Week and Book Fair at Mossy Head School! Around each student's neck was a sign with a vocabulary word describing their favorite book character. Students discussed the meaning of their word and its relation to the book with their classmates. So much learning and fun too!
