Kindergarten Registration

 

will be held
Monday-Friday, March 7th – 18th, 2016
from 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
at all Walton County elementary schools
for any child who will be five (5) on or before September 1, 2016.

 

An official birth certificate is required. 
You may obtain an official birth certificate for any child born in Florida at the Walton County Public Health Unit for $12.00.
 
Before entering school in August, each child must have a physical examination and up-to date immunizations.

Families at Mossy Head School enjoyed an evening of science and learning on Wednesday, January 20th. Parents were able to browse student-made science fair exhibits, participate in hands-on science activities with their children, and enjoy a pizza and hamburger dinner too! Everyone had a great time and learned a lot about SCIENCE!

Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida!

Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! is an annual event during which students, teachers, administrators, parents and volunteers celebrate the tremendous success of Florida's students over the past decade. With this year’s theme, "Reading Changes the World!" we will be focusing on literature that teaches good moral character.

Tuesday, January 27th  

  • Million Words Reading Challenge- You have been challenged to read, read, read and take AR tests today! We will add up all the words from the books you’ve read and tested on TODAY. Our goal is ONE MILLION WORDS schoolwide! There will also be a prize for the class that reads the most words today!

 

Wednesday, January 28th  

  • Bring books for the BOOK SWAP today! Bring a gently used book from home to swap for another gently used book! Students must have permission form signed from their parent to swap the book.
  • Guest reader on the morning show.
  • Be sure to have your classroom door decorated by today!

 

Thursday, January 29th

Congratulations to Tayten Lehmann! She was chosen as the January Student of the Month for MHS. Tayten is a member of the Mustang News, Mossy Head School's Morning show program. She also serves as a Mustang Marshall. We are so proud of Tayten for all her accomplishments. Way to go!
