Walton County Schools Closed Tuesday, February 16th

Due to extreme weather conditions expected tomorrow morning, all Walton County schools will close tomorrow, Tuesday, February 16th. Closures include both students and employees. Extra-curricular activities may resume after 12.00 P.M. noon. Please check with your school for additional extra-curricular details. SPICE locations can also check with their SPICE facilitator for more information. Based on information from Emergency Management, below freezing temperatures and possible ice on roads are expected for the Walton County area. The WCSD will continue to monitor the weather with our local experts. Stay safe and continue to check our district and schools’ websites and social media platforms for more information.

WCSD Teacher of the Year!

Mossy Head School is extremely proud to announce that Ms. Coone is the Walton County School District Teacher of the Year! During a Celebration held to recognize the MHS Teacher of the Year, Ms. Coone, and the MHS ESP of the Year, Ms. Ingram, the Mossy Head School staff was surprised with the arrival of Mr. Hughes. Mr. Hughes' then made the exciting announcement that Ms. Coone is the WCSD Teacher of the Year, and will now go on to represent WCSD at the state level for Teacher of the Year. We are so proud of you, Ms. Coone!

Mrs. Gregor was recognized for her hard word and dedication as part of National School Counseling Week. Congratulations, Mrs. Gregor!

Mossy Head School would like to announce and congratulate our Teacher of the Year, Ms. Leslie Coone. Ms. Coone is a veteran teacher who continues to develop her instructional methods in order to create a positive, energetic, and yet academic centered, classroom. She not only supports in her class, but also supports students and staff school wide. She has played an important role in the development of MHS's House System over the last few years, especially in acquiring the RCA House app for our school. Congratulations Ms. Coone!
